Turning one is so much fun. And Miguel is one of my favorite clients so it was a blast taking his photos. I took his mom’s maternity session, I photographed his birth. I also documented his first year of life and when he turned one we had a special session. He is so fun and all boy. For his first year session I brought him some balloons and he couldn’t get enough of them. He played and laughed. It was a fun session and he kept his mom and me with a smile the whole time. I really love following clients (and they usually become friends) as they grow. The best is when they start as little newborns and then parents come back to me to photograph them as they grow. It is a privilege to be a part of the families that trust me to capture their memories.
Between takes Miguel needed some mommy time. Lots of hugs and lots of kisses. All giggles all the time. I couldn’t help myself and just click away. The best part is that mom, who wasn’t ready to take pictures, was totally ok with me capturing those candid moments. And those moments are GOLD.
Those cheeks are just to good to not want to kiss them all the time. And mom knows exactly where to kiss to get that giggle. That perfect one year old giggle. The perfect “kodak moment” or in my case “Nikon moment.”
At the end of the session we had some time to just sit and play (some more). He chose to play with straw and leaves. How fun is that? What one year old doesn’t want to play with leaves and straw?
Balloon Time
And at the end of the first year session we finish with the balloons. He got to keep them and share them with his sisters. Now I am preparing to shoot his two year old session. If turning one is so much fun, turning two will be incredible!
