When you are a young family of four taking family photos can feel like such a difficult task. It can be overwhelming to gather the kids, dress them in something cute that they won’t cry about wearing, get yourself looking great, promise your husband that it will be fun (and short), and hope that no one has a melt down. Is this how you feel when planning a family session? I can help you with that!
When I first met Ashley she was pregnant with her first baby and I took her maternity session. A few years have gone by and I am so happy that I am still capturing her family. I am even happier to call her my friend. Ashley an amazing mama and always pulls it together for our sessions. Some sessions we plan for months and talk about them at length. This session we planned it very last minute and I don’t think we even talked about what everyone was wearing. After years of experience planning outfits I do think that Ashley did a great job getting everyone’s clothes ready for the big day. A little gray, a little blue, and some pop of pink. PERFECT! Another thing that I love about this session is that Ms. Scarlett wore her rain boots to the session. It made such a fun element to the photos.
We had all smiley faces and happy babies! Perfect morning in my eyes. And if you look close you can see that James has his walkie talkie in some of the pictures. So between Scarlett’s rain boots and James’s toy the kids were so happy and cooperative. Since it was a mini session we needed to be quick and those two thing that Ashley let them bring might have been the best thing that happened to our session. She is a PRO at this. So I guess that what I have been trying to say is that sometimes you should not sweat the small stuff. Sometimes something really small will make the kids happy and in turn everyone is happy. EVEN DAD WILL BE HAPPY that you are all taking photos.
