Seems like yesterday that I was taking Aurora’s new born pictures. Then I get an email asking to schedule her one year birthday session. How can this be? How can that little bundle of joy be one already? I love that I took pictures of her mama when she was pregnant, then I got to document her first days at home, and now I get to do her first birthday session in The Woodlands.
I have photographed this family several times and older brother, Griffin, is super friendly and always ready to have his picture taken. Aurora is much more shy and not as a big fan of the big, black camera in front of my face. She was serious and mostly wanted to be with her mom. She loved on her bunny and just looked at me trying to figure out what I was trying to do. It was cold, a bit rainy, and really foggy!!! We tried making her happy with balloons and a little signing. I don’t think she likes me signing. I might have to put my vocals to work. This is the effect they had…At this point we had to rethink our plan. We decided to meet the next week and bring brother along. Maybe he could make Aurora smile. Boy were we right!!! Griffin was the key. He really makes sister happy. The weather was similar than the last session but having brother along make Aurora smile and also laugh!
And then we got the most perfect of them together. Just laughing it up and having a good old time. I would blow this up and put if on the biggest wall in my house. I just love it so much!!! At the end of the second session we were able to get Aurora by herself. That was the goal for both of the sessions. And we did it! We got Aurora smiling and happy for her first birthday!!! I could not ask for anything else.
