Newlyweds in The Honeymoon in Houston Texas

Newlyweds, Laura and Pete, called me up to take some pictures to announce their wedding to friends and family.  What better place then to take their pictures at The Honeymoon in Houston Texas.  They had a small wedding at home and wanted to have some beautiful pictures of themselves instead of wedding photos.  They are so cute and in love that they made my job easy.

We met at The Honeymoon CafĂ© and then walked around downtown.  They are very cool and they needed an equally cool location.  The Honeymoon fit the bill perfectly.  It’s a perfect way to announce the marriage and to remember the first months as newlyweds.  And they also used it as a Christmas card.

After we were done we walked around and took pictures around the street.  Shooting in downtown you have to be ready to shoot around people.  You also have to be ok with some strangers making your shots.  The realness that downtown brings to the photos is something I love.  I love the idea of being around a lot of people and being alone at the same time.  One of my favorite things about downtown is the metro running through Main St.  I always make it a point to take photos at the train stops.  It might be that I like trains because I am a boy mom.  I really don’t know why I like it so much but the stops just call my name.  We finished the session on the top of a parking lot.  I wanted to get a higher view of the city and the top deck of a parking lot was the perfect spot to get those views.  I had hard time climbing the stairs to the very top.  Their elevator was broken (and I had asthma when I did this session) which meant we had to go up on foot.  We climbed and made it to the top.  Finished the session and to say that I am beyond happy with these images is an understatement.  The only thing I wish is that I had pictures like this when I got married (and I love my wedding photos).    I wish this beautiful couple a very blessed life together and many happy years together!!!
