When your senior wants photos taken you plan a Houston Senior photography session. He loves all things Houston. I think he gets his love for Houston from my husband and myself. WE all the the city, the feel, the sports, how cool it is, EVERYTHING! His Houston senior photography session was so fun and we enjoyed every minute of it. Except us taking the dog with us everywhere. He likes to bark at everyone. My poor husband had to deal with him most of the time.
First we planned his session locations and what his outfits would be. We also steamed pressed everything and headed to downtown Houston. I took his fist set off of Main Street. The weather was great, as a result, that brought out ALL the photographers. Thank goodness it was a solo session and we didn’t need a lot of area for out photos. We were able to avoid more of it and when we couldn’t we took turns with the other photographers. (We played nice).
Downtown and his suit were a great fit! He looked so good that as a result he even got a few cat calls, which made him laugh, and made for a great photo. I love shooting in an urban area. The buildings, the cars, the lights, all the hustle and bustle make for a great background. Houston is a GREAT place for photos!!!
Next we moved to some art walls that I felt represented Zach’s love for Houston and all things Texas perfectly. He is a Texas boy and very proud of it. We used one of these pictures for his graduation announcement. Which I loved how it turned out!
Our last location was a view of the skyline. Houston has the most beautiful skyline there we were guaranteed some amazing shots! We drove out there and waited for the sun to be low enough that it didn’t make our pictures have horrible shadows. While we waited the boys had time to relax, play some football and run with the dog. That down time helped make the session more memorable.
It was a great session! But above all it was an emotional session since it was my own son that I was photographing. I am so glad we took the time to capture these moments. Now he is at college and we are very proud of him. We also miss him EVERY DAY!
