Sarah had her final Senior portraits in The Woodlands. After having to reschedule several times we finally took the pictures right before graduation. This year we had some challenges thanks to Covid 19. At the beginning of the pandemic I was not taking pictures. I was following state guidelines of when I could operate. Once the state said we could meet with clients at a safe distance I was ready but hair and makeup people were still not allowed to work.
Now, finally we got to meet and I have to say that I had such a good time taking Sarah’s pictures. We had amazing light and the weather wasn’t terribly hot. What else can you ask for in Texas during the summer months?
Sarah structured her session in a very cool way. We did two separate sessions. One at the begging of the year and one at the end of the year. I really like that we did this. One of the cool things of having two sessions so far apart is that you get to use your images for all the different activities that come up at the beginning.
Another reason why two sessions is a cool decision is because you get to see how you have changed during the year. Senior year is a huge year and many changes take place. You can be a completely different person at the begging of the year then what you are at the end of the year.
Reason number three for having two sessions: TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. Sarah had two very different styles of sessions. Her first session was downtown Houston. Very urban and modern. Her second was at the high school. A more traditional space but we got some very non traditional images.
And the last reason I can think of right now is that you get to show case what school you are attending. You might even get to use your cap and gown for some of the photos! A lot of (most) seniors don’t what school they are going to go if they take their pictures in the fall. So if you wait and have a session at the end of the year you can wear some school gear. You can show off some school pride!!!
But at the end of all your sessions the most important thing is to PRINT your photos. You took the time to plan your session. All the outfits were picked with so much care. Hair and makeup has scheduled and you took the time to go before your session. Plus all the time taking photos. All for what? TO PRINT YOUR PHOTOS. PRINT YOUR MEMORIES!
