It is important to know how to take pictures in crowded places. Clients sometimes pick locations that are popular with people and other photographers. For these type of locations I have a few tricks that I like to use.
The first one seems like a simple solution to me. Go on a day that is not busy. Weekdays can be a great time to go to popular places. The weekend is the time when more people are out. If you can do a weekday session this might be your best choice.
If the weekend is the only time possible then we can still make it work. The second solution is scheduling your session a bit earlier. Depending on the location and how the light comes in at that spot sometimes scheduling the session 20-30 minutes earlier can work. By doing this you can get there before the golden hour rush and pick your spot.
A third solution is a morning session. Just like there is a golden hour in the evening there’s one in the morning. (It is super early but so worth it.) This solution works really great with families that have littles. Younger kids are usually up early anyways. AND sometimes they are cranky in the afternoon.
Lastly, the forth solution for how to take pictures in crowded places. Get a photographer (ME) that can work the angles and has good lenses. A lens can make all the difference. Sometimes just taking a step to one side or another and you can have people completely out of your frame.
Now it’s time to book your session in a popular spot! Send me a message and lets get planning.
