If you don’t hire a make up artist, here are some makeup tips for your photo session.
A lot of women don’t wear makeup all the time but when it comes to a photo session I recommend to always wear some. You can hire a makeup artist and they do an AMAZING job. They can do it as natural as you want to or very dramatic. However, if you don’t want to hire a makeup artist you can also look amazing.
Let’s start with foundation. If you don’t use foundation I recommend that you try a very light foundation (don’t go heavy since it will be harder to apply). You can also try a tinted moisturizer. They can smooth out your skin and not be too much. You can then apply some concealer to specific areas like under your eyes or any sports that might need covering up. Make sure to blend them in.
Now that your skin is prepped, let’s talk about the eyes. An eye primer can be great. They make your eyeshadows pop a bit and last longer. If you don’t have a eye primer a little concealer can go a long way. Then you can apply some eyeshadow. First apply a neutral color that is close to your eyelid color. Apply all over very lightly. The second eye color should be something that accentuates your eye color. Apply the second color to the crease of your eye and blend it down with a brush. Once it’s blended you can add a little eyeliner or just move on to mascara.
When applying mascara do it in layers. After the first light layer move to add some blush and let the mascara set. Apply a little blush above the apple of your cheeks. You don’t need a lot of blush, it’s all about the placement. Meg O. on the Go has some great tips on how to apply blush, bronzer, and highlighter. After the blush you can apply another layer of mascara to give it volume. 2 layers or more are ideal. You can’t see one layer on the camera.
Makeup must for your photo session
The finishing touch is the lips. Lining your lips before applying gloss or lipstick can make them look fuller. Using a natural color lip liner helps it looking more discreet. Finally you get to apply your lipstick, lip gloss, or both. I know that a lot of girls don’t wear lipstick or lip gloss everyday. However, I highly recommend that you do for your session. It makes you look finished and the photos always look better with a little color on the lips. Even if you chose a very neutral color, wear the lipstick!
