Being a Houston family photographer in the fall means being extra busy. We have very hot summer but that makes for great fall weather. And that fabulous weather makes people want to come out and have family photos taken. I love FALL in Houston!
One big advantage to warmer fall temps is that we get to do some fun creek sessions. The fall weather is cool enough that you are not sweating bullets but warm enough that if I ask you to get in the water you won’t be cold. WIN WIN in my book.
This fall I had Sara take me up on having her family photos taken by a creek. I knew that the session would be amazing. Sara is an influencer and I knew that she was going to be amazing at getting outfits together. She even did a little image with the outfits to share with her followers! AMAIZING!!!
Location for Houston Family Photography
I knew I wanted a creek and pretty sand. Where in Houston would you think you can find that? Well, thank goodness for friends. A good friend told me about the perfect location that she had been to. I headed out to Pundt Park to see if the place was worth it. (Checking out new spots before taking clients is something I do. I want to make sure they are what we are looking for).
Pundt Park did not disappoint. It was perfect! Plus, when I got there I found a wonderful surprise. There were yellow flowers growing all over the place. As a Houston family photographer I could not ask for a lot more. So, I had water, beautiful sand, and yellow flowers. That is the makings for a great session at golden hour (my favorite time to shoot).
What to wear
Sara (from Haute and Humid) had said yes to my suggestion of the creek. The creek location turned out to be amazing. Next came what to wear. I knew that I wanted the mom in something flowy and long. Everyone else could look casual but dressy.
Most of the times I send inspiration to my clients. I send them over to my Pinterest account where they can find ideas. Or I can personally text them some ideas if they tell me what colors they want to work with. Sara sent me pictures of a few dresses and the white one was my favorite. It was exactly what I had in my head for her session.
Once she made her choices she shared this graphic with her followers and then link on where to but everything. SOOO COOL!
The End Result
All the planning and scouting paid off. Sara’s session was amazing. Her family is so stinking cute and we got some really great photos. If you want me to plan a session with you send me a email and I would love to work with you.
