A girl senior session is a bit different than a boy one. I am very aware that the each want very different things from their sessions. Girl seniors are really into their sessions. A lot of boys are doing it for their moms. Either one I love working with seniors.
With girl there is a lot involved that guys might have no clue about. They worry about their hair, makeup, nails, outfits, shoes, jewelry, location. Some girls do their own hair and makeup. And some go get them done. There isn’t one correct answer for everyone. It’s very subjective on each client. One thing I do recommend; even if you want a very natural look, you should wear some makeup to even out the skin. Mascara to make your eyes pop is another must. And some kind of lip product to make your lips not look dry. Or you could go full face. I like both.
For Payton’s session she let her personality shine. Her makeup was beautiful and her hair was on point. She brought a couple of outfits and they were great. Different enough to get to very distinct looks.
What to wear for your senior session
I always think that one of the keys to a successful session is what you bring to wear. If you booked a session that has more than one outfit variety is key. I find it easy in my everyday life to gravitate to the same type of clothes. For a session that could translate into the same “look”. For your girl senior session bring out your creativity. I think a good combo is a casual outfit and something fancier, like a dress.
Payton started her session with jeans, a cute crop top, and sneakers. Then she changed into a dress with sandals. Both choices she looked comfortable and like herself. And they were very different at the same time. I think she did a great job at selecting her clothes.
I think the first place to shop for your session is your closet. After, maybe log into to Pinterest and see what you like. Pinterest is great resource for inspiration. You can also check out some post on my website and see if there is something that you are drawn to. After you do those (and if it’s okay with your parents) you can shop for the rest.
Now that I told you some of the basics, send me a message and let’s plan your session!
