The difference between getting the job and not getting it could be a good or bad headshot. People look at your headshots and see your brand reflected in them. Recently I did a session with a friend. She wanted simple, classic, fun, and relaxed. And she wanted to show off her pink hair. We booked a studio and spent an hour taking pictures. It was super fun and we managed to get the fresh and modern headshots she was looking for.
What to wear for your modern headshots
When I think of modern headshots I picture very simple clothes. The focus would be on the subject not the outfit. This is why we decided that she would bring things without patterns. A white button down shirt but with a slightly different cut to make it more up to date. A black off the shoulder shirt that is fun and a little sexy. And a pretty, long sweater that we ended up using as a dress. They were all the perfect frame to her face and work great in the simple and beautiful space that the studio had.
The beautiful, clean background of the studio combined with the outfits we chose and I have to say we captured magic that day. And guess what. We didn’t have to melt outside. We were very comfortable in the AC. I am a bit obsessed with this location. And I can’t wait to go back.
