When planning an extended family session in The Woodlands, TX it is very important to start early. Finding the right photographer to photograph a large group can be challenging. Not everyone photographs large groups, and usually these sessions happen around the holidays and not all photographers shoot during the holidays.
Once you have found the photographer that you like their style it is very important to contact them and find out if they have any policies that apply to shooting large groups. Most photographers have a separate fee for groups larger then 5. Contact me and I can share with you mine! I love planning an extended family session in The Woodlands, TX because those are memories that are so special to cherish and capture.
It is time to plan! You have your photographer, you have figured out the price and a date when the session will take place, now is time for the details. The details is where the beauty comes in! The details is what I love to plan. What to wear is a big one? I DO NOT like matching clothes! I love coordinating colors. The way to do it is selecting a color palette and finding clothes for everyone that are in that family. A great resource for that is Pinterest. Pinterest is my favorite website to find visuals of what to wear to send to clients.
Another detail that I make sure we discuss with my clients is what shots are required. What shots are the most important. What shots would be a bonus. The galleries I create for my clients include a little bit of everything. I want my clients to be able to create a wall or a display with their pictures and have them look beautiful together. I will include poses with the large group with everyone in the photo, then I will break them up into smaller groups: immediate families, just the kids, grandparents with grand kids, etc, etc. Now let’s get planning your session!
Stick around for a while and check out some more of my work!
