It that time of year when we start thinking of family photography. There is something about the weather changing that makes us all happy and ready to head outdoors. And one popular way to spend some time outside is by getting family pictures taken.
As a mom I know that I just love having wonderful photos of my littles (not so little) and my husband. I just have to make an effort to get in front of the camera every once in a while. It is important for my kids to see me in photos as they get older. I know that as moms we can be so critical of ourselves. We can see every “defect” and magnify it by 1000 times.
Our kids don’t see us that way. They love us for who we are. They don’t care that we might not be at the perfect weight, that we have a few more grays than we did last year. Our kids want to see us sharing in the good times. They want us to be part of their memories. So jump in and take pictures with them!
When the kids get older and they have families of their own they will look back at the photos that you are taking right now and love them. This is why it is so important for mom and dad to get in front of the camera. Share the lens with the kids! They want to see us in their memories. That is why I like family photography. I like the idea of my photos being a part of a family’s history.
